Abstract Nanfen District of Benxi City, located in the mountainous area of Eastern Liaoning Province, is the main geological disaster-prone area of the province. Geoanalysis, combining with quantitative and semi-quantitative analysis, is applied to study and evaluate the disaster-inducing factors of two major geological disasters, Jiguanlazi collapse and Gunmaling debris flow. The result reveals the formation and evolution of the disasters. The corresponding suggestions for the prevention of disasters are put forward.
